Twin statue of the two reverent leaders R Suisa and Chingsubam Akaba with the symbol of love, peace and fraternity was unveiled today at Hongmahn Tangkhul village under Senapati district on the occasion of the 44th death anniversary of R Suisa. Unveiling of the twin statue was jointly organised by R Suisa Trust and Luchingpurel Chingsubam Akaba Ningsing Lup (LUCANIL).The function started with candle tribute to the grave of the late reverent leader R Suisa by the titular king of Manipur, Leishemba Sanajaoba, Chairman R Suisa Trust, Dr Ngahorshai Luithui, President, Tangkhul Naga Wungnaolong, Sweeten Rahing, Chief Hongmahn Tangkhul Village, Mathankhui Zimik and families of Chingsubam Akaba. After the candle tribute, the Chairman of R Suisa Trust stated that Rungsung Suisa had wanted his body to be buried facing towards the valley which showed his love for the people of valley region.In the old tradition form, many women of Social Elevation for Human Resources and Environmental Management Organisation, Manipur (SEHREMOM) brought Athenpok (traditional fruits and vegetables) to offer it to the twin statues of love, peace and fraternity. The statues were unveiled by the chief guest, Leishemba Sanajaoba, Chairman, R Suisa Trust, Dr Ngahorshai Luithui and many other dignitaries.Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ngahorshai Luithui further said that the two reverent leaders belonged from hill and valley regions and thus unveiling their statues will mark unity amongst the people of the two regions.The twin statue erected at the Hongmahn Ground will also bring unity and increase respect amongst the people of hill and valley region and it should be spread to the generations to come the love and respect among the hill and valley people of the state.
