Block Development Officer (BDO) Tourangbam Janeshor spearheaded the “Ek Ped Maa ke Naam” tree plantation campaign today at the Bharat Nirman Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra, located within the compound of the Jiribam CD Block Office, Babupara, Jiribam District. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the official staff, who collectively planted various types of trees.
During the event, BDO Tourangbam Janeshor emphasized the importance of the campaign, stating, “Today’s tree plantation by our office staff under the ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’ initiative is our contribution to preserving the environment, combating climate change, and advancing the Green Revolution. I urge everyone to plant trees at home to support our ecological system.”
The campaign saw active involvement from Section Officer N. Rajamani, Panchayat Secretaries H. Brajakumar, L. Ibocha, S. Ranbir, Accountant Subendu Chaudhuri, Ashok Chaudhury, and other staff members, who contributed to the success of the event.
The Ukhrul District Administration also initiated the Ek Ped Maa Ke Nam (plant4mother) campaign today.
Today’s drive was taken up at five locations namely Mini-Secretariat Compound, Meizailungtang, Shirui Village and Ramva Village. Various departmental DDOs and their staff were allocated in these identified places for the social work. Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul Zuringla Kengoo, IAS, has also participated in the social work by planting saplings at these locations. Present among others are David Kashungnao, CEO, UADC, Doctor Kapangring, CMO, Rajesh DashrathDarade, IFS, DFO, Kajaigai Gangmei, ADM Ukhrul, A. Rohini SDO, LM Block, Duna Dua, ADM, Jessami, Dinringam Kamei, SDO Ukhrul and Riamei Jiangmei, SDC, Ukhrul.
