The ILP agitator Amom Wangthoi (19) of Kiyamgai Maning leikai, who was brutally thrashed by the security personnel of Kakwa police station in connection with the agitation warned the JCILPS of serious consequences the agitation is concluded without getting the goal.
He said there has been talk about JCILPS member ending the agitation by taking with the government secretly. He said after such agitation only the supporters become the victims. Many had sustained serious injury and even a student has been killed. He said if the JCILPS ended without getting the goal then those injured during the agitation will demand compensation from the JCILPS.
He said that the people are not demanding a separate nation from India nor doing anti-national agitation. “As an educated student we all know what happen to Tripura where indigenous people become minority in their own state, keeping this in mind we are demanding ILPS in Manipur to protect our identity” he added.
As a citizen of India we would contribute for the better of the nation as contributed in the field of sport and art and culture.
He further said that state police are also people of the state and the demand of the ILPS is also included for them. He asked why the police acted like inhuman to their own people by thrashing and attempting to kill. If the state police continue such inhuman act than there will be a conflict between police and agitator taking as personal matter. There is no reason that people might take revenge after knowing their identity of the state police personal who had beaten agitator.
