Students of Higher Secondary Schools to boycott Sangai festival

Students of 8 higher secondary schools had announced that they will boycott the upcoming Sangai Festival if the state government fails to enact a legislation to check illegal migrants in the state. In a press conference held at Ram Lal Paul Higher Secondary School, student’s representatives of the Higher Secondary School said that they will go by the decision of the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System. As according to the resolution adopted during a peoples’ convention at MDU on November 7, the JCILP had set Nov. 18 as the deadline for introduction of a legislation. General Secretary of Ram Lal Paul Higher Secondary School, Langoljam Rajesh said that if the state government fail to announce a legislation similar to the Inner Line Permit System on or before November 18 then the students of the Higher Secondary School will began stir from the following day.  He also said that the students bodies of the Higher Secondary Schools will also boycott the Sangai festival as a part of the agitation. Representatives of the TG Higher Secondary School, CC Higher Secondary School, Ananda Accademy Higher Secondary School, Johnstone Higher School, Lamlong Higher Secondary School, Model Higher Secondary School  and Ibotonsana Higher Secondary School were present in the press conference.
