Imphal, April 29:

In a historic feat, S. Christopher Aimol has secured an All India ranking of 921 in the prestigious Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination, becoming the first person from the indigenous Aimol tribe of Manipur to achieve this milestone. Hailing from Aimol Khullen Village in Tengnoupal District, Christopher’s remarkable achievement is a source of pride for his community and the state as a whole.
After years of dedicated preparation, spanning since 2018, he triumphed in his sixth attempt at the UPSC examination. Speaking to the media upon his arrival at Imphal Airport, Christopher expressed his joy and gratitude to all those who supported him throughout his arduous journey.
“I have been working tirelessly for this examination, and finally, in my sixth attempt, I have cleared it. This is a moment of immense joy for me,” Christopher shared with the press.
Highlighting the significance of his achievement against the backdrop of Manipur’s complex socio-political landscape, Christopher pointed out that his success, along with that of nine other candidates from Manipur who cleared the UPSC exam, highlights the state’s potential and talent.
Acknowledging the support and encouragement he received from various quarters, Christopher pledged to dedicate himself to serving the people of Manipur. “I am deeply grateful to everyone who stood by me during this journey. I am committed to working for the betterment of Manipur and its people,” he affirmed.
Christopher’s arrival at Imphal Airport was marked by a warm reception organized by numerous civil society organizations, including prominent valley-based groups such as AMUCO, NRC, AMESCO, IMOHCO, IPOM, FOCS, IMOM, IMSCOM, ATUM and ASUM NUMEI WAR.
AMESCO, in particular, orchestrated a special program to honor Christopher’s achievement, recognizing its significance for the Aimol tribe and the broader indigenous communities of Manipur. Later, a reception program was held at the M.U. Main Gate, Canchipur, by the National Research Centre (NRC) to felicitate Christopher Aimol for his remarkable accomplishment.
