Preparations for the upcoming National Deworming Day in Manipur are underway, with the Office of the Medical Superintendent at JNIMS Hospital Porompat, Imphal East, announcing the nomination of specialist doctors to the Adverse Event Management Team. Scheduled for April 30th, 2024, followed by a Mop Up Day on May 7th, 2024, this initiative aims to address deworming needs among the state’s children. The decision to form the team stems from a directive by the State Mission Director of the State Health Society, NHM, Manipur, outlined in their recent communication dated April 1st, 2024.
Among the nominated specialists are notable figures from various medical disciplines. For the 1st Round of National Deworming Day, 2024 at the State Level, individuals such as Dr. Y. Rameshwor Singh, Associate Professor of Paediatrics, Dr. Debashree Ningthoujam, Associate Professor of Pharmacology, and Dr. Uthan Th., from the Department of Medicine, have been chosen to contribute their expertise. Similarly, for the subsequent Mop Up Day, the same specialists, along with Dr. M. Umakanta from the Department of Medicine, will be actively involved in managing adverse events and ensuring the smooth execution of the deworming program.
