Imphal, Dec 24:
Y. Shyam, the Deputy Secretary of Minority Affairs of the proscribed group Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF), has extended greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Christmas, which falls on December 25, 2024. In a statement issued by Bangkim, the Assistant Secretary of Publicity for RPF, Shyam conveyed his wishes for peace and prosperity in the state.
The statement highlighted that Lord Jesus Christ was born as a human being to guide humanity on the right path according to divine directives. It emphasized the importance of the message of Jesus Christ, which calls for living a peaceful and harmonious life. Citing John 13:34, the statement stressed that love is free from fear and wrongdoing, and that peaceful coexistence among humans is the ultimate way of life as taught by Christ.
The RPF noted with concern the lack of peace in the modern world, attributing it to conflicts over land—possessions that cannot be carried into the afterlife. The statement lamented the prevalence of a superiority complex among communities, leading to the suppression of others, and observed that this issue extends globally. It also pointed out that in Manipur, people are living like refugees in their own land due to ongoing strife.
In these challenging times, Shyam reportedly said, his family and clan are praying for peace to prevail in every household and for humanity and goodness to bind people together. He urged everyone to overcome the divisions and challenges that have caused discord in the land and called for love and understanding to become the foundation for unity and hope.
The statement further reflected on the teachings of Jesus Christ, who through his sacrifice on the Cross, demonstrated forgiveness, redemption, and the path to a meaningful life. It urged people to embrace Christ’s grace and live together in harmony by supporting one another with compassion and understanding, as affirmed in Ephesians 4:32.
As Christmas 2024 approaches, the RPF encouraged everyone to live with kindness and forgiveness, just as Christ forgave and loved humanity. Shyam conveyed heartfelt wishes for the people of Manipur and the world to embrace the message of love and unity during this festive season.
