A three-day photography and videography training programme under the RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) scheme concluded at MACA Hall in Chandel district, with around 50 participants attending.
The workshop was organised by the Divisional Forest Officer, Chandel. Dr. N. Munal Meitei, DFO/Chandel, attended the valedictory function as Chief Guest, while Sng. Pearson Anal, State Awardee and Secretary of Lambung Village, and S.T. Wanghring, proprietor of Zinnim Enterprise, were Guests of Honour. Range Forest Officer N. Deepa presided over the programme.
Speaking at the event, Dr. N. Munal Meitei said that multiple training programmes linked to eco-tourism, including homestay management, natural dyeing, bamboo and cane craft, and forest-based products, have been conducted in the district under RAMP. He stated that the initiative aims to develop Chandel into a model eco-tourism district and promote self-employment among youth.
He noted that around 350 individuals, including women, have been trained across five project areas, adding that skill-based training is key as government employment opportunities remain limited. He urged participants to utilise the knowledge gained to build sustainable livelihoods.
S.T. Wanghring highlighted the importance of exposure visits conducted under the scheme, including to Assam’s Kaziranga, and called for effective utilisation of local tourism potential. He also appealed for wider participation in such training programmes.
