Imphal, Dec 19:
The Government of Manipur has responded to recent claims made by a group identifying itself as the “Kuki-Zo Council,” asserting that no such organization exists within the state. Following an investigation, authorities have raised doubts about the legitimacy and origin of the group, describing it as highly questionable.
The government clarified that there is no district named “Lamka” in Manipur, as claimed by the organization, further fueling suspicions that the group may have external connections and is operating outside legal and administrative frameworks.
In response, the Manipur Police are actively investigating the matter, with plans to file an FIR to determine the true nature and intentions behind these misleading activities. The state has urged residents to remain cautious and avoid paying attention to statements or claims from organizations with dubious origins, which appear to be creating confusion and unrest.
The government reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and harmony in Manipur, urging citizens to stay vigilant and rely on credible sources of information. Authorities also called on both national and local media outlets to refrain from giving publicity to press releases from unauthorized individuals or groups. Also, the government appealed to the central authorities to disregard such unverified claims.
Emphasizing the importance of restoring peace among communities, the Manipur Government warned that it will not tolerate any actions that threaten the ongoing peace process. Further updates on the investigation will be shared as they become available.
