Imphal, Nov 11: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh met Yangon Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein and interacted to materialise the India’s Act East Policy in a speedy way.
During the meeting Chief Minister N. Biren Singh draw the attention of the Yangon Chief Minister to strengthen the relationship between the two neighbouring countries by introducing Imphal via Mandalay to Yangon bus service. N Biren Singh requested the Yangon Chief Minister to pass Manipur will visiting Bodha Gaya.
Every year over 1000 of Budhist pilgrims from Myanmar visited Bodha Gaya by flight at a much higher fare. If the pilgrims travel by land route through Manipur then the fare will be very less.
N. Biren Singh also urged to allot land for trade center at Yangon to boost trade and commerce activities between the two countries.
Yangon Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein also stressed on the need for bridging better relationship between Yangon and the people of Manipur. U Phyo Min Thein also points on the need to develop tourism and technology by sharing knowledge between the two countries.
