Medical students stranded outside Manipur urged to support in rescheduling of NEET PG counselling in Manipur

New Delhi, April 23

Amidst the nationwide lockdown announced by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India issued Notification of schedule of Round 1 of NEET PG Counselling 2020 for states on 17/04/2020 at the MEDICAL COUNSELING COMMITTEE (MCC) website directing the State counselling authorities to conduct the Counselling sessions from 20th April 2020 till 4th May 2020.

Respecting the guidelines and the travel advisories issued by the Government of India to control the outbreak of COVID 19 in the country, 10 Manipuri Medical students currently stranded outside the state shared that It would be very difficult to travel from one state to another for attending the said counselling session during the nationwide lockdown, as some of the students are residing currently on the Hotspots COVID-19 areas of the metro cities.

The students requested the Hon’ble Chief CM to kindly intervene and reconsider to Re-schedule round 1 state NEET PG counselling 2020 in Manipur until normalcy resumes in the country or suggest possible arrangements to resolve the issues.
