CM moots Specialist doctors for all district hospitals

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today said that the state government is planning to send specialist doctors to all district hospitals of the state on 2 month rotation basis. Speaking during the Inaugural function of the college of nursing at the medical directorate at Lamphel, the chief Minister said that the state government is facing serious problem to the transfer and posting of doctors and staff nurses to the PHCs and District hospitals located at interior part of the state. He said that in order to sort out the problem the state health department is planning to appoint nurses on walk in interview basis from among the qualified candidates of the locality. He appealed the people in the profession to corporate the government in taking up the measures.The inaugural function was also attended by State health minister Phungzathang Tonshing, Local MLA Laishram Nandakumar Singh accompanied by the Principal secretary Dr J Suresh Babu, Director state Health services Ibomcha and other senior officials of the state health services of the Imphal West district.
