
State government representatives comprising of PC Lawmkunga, Chief Secretary, Dr. J. Suresh Babu, Principal Secretary Home and Md. Rehanuddin Choudury, Joint Secretary Home will be attending in the first Interaction workshop-cum-conference with the Non-Resident Indians (NRI) at Abu Dhabi, UAE on September 13. The meeting is the first of its kind initiated by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Government of India in the aftermath of the various problems being face by the Indians working in the Middle East countries due to political uncertainty. The one day interaction session will discuss in depth about the several welfare measures, programmes, Schemes, etc. being taken up by the respective state governments of India. The interaction session is being organized to impart knowledge about this welfare programme for the NRI plus the existing scheme and programmes of the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs such as Indian Community Welfare Fund. According to source from the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi, the one day interaction cum workshop is scheduled to hold at Indian Social and Cultural Centre, Abu Dhabi on September 13. Earlier, it was scheduled on June 27 but as none of the state government authorities in India has sent any confirmation about their participation it was later postponed to hold on September 13.
