The month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026 culminated in Jan Sevak Mahakumbh programmes across several districts of Manipur today, highlighting public service delivery, welfare assistance, community participation and awareness of government schemes.

The campaign was organised to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service, with district administrations coordinating activities involving government departments, local representatives, students and beneficiaries.

In Jiribam, the programme was held at the Multi Utility Complex, with MLA Md. Achab Uddin attending as chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Arvind Hanglem presiding and Superintendent of Police Prakhar Pandey attending as guest of honour. Achab Uddin called for public participation in development initiatives and urged communities to maintain peace and harmony amid continuing challenges in Manipur. Students of Kasturba Girls High School presented folk dances highlighting India’s cultural diversity.

In Bishnupur, the culmination programme was held at the Panchayat Resource Centre Hall in the Mini Secretariat Complex, attended by Home and Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Govindas Konthoujam. Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam outlined activities conducted during the campaign, including Aangan Ka Utsav, Seva Setu Abhiyan, Seva Jyoti Yatra, art initiatives and a blood donation camp. The Minister called for public service and good governance to continue beyond the campaign period. Agricultural inputs, battery sprayers and assistive devices were distributed to beneficiaries.

In Thoubal, the programme was held at the Counting Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, with MLAs Paonam Brojen and Th. Radheshyam highlighting public service and grassroots outreach. Certificates of appreciation were presented to departmental employees, while health cards and loans to self-help groups were distributed to support welfare access and livelihood activities.

In Senapati, the culmination programme at the DRDA Conference Hall featured a review of campaign activities by nodal officer Ngaonii Panii. Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar S. stressed that good governance should be measured by tangible improvements in people’s lives and called for sustained coordination among departments, civil society organisations and village authorities. Departmental stalls facilitated access to welfare schemes and grievance redressal, while agricultural inputs, saplings, ration cards and other assistance were distributed. A medical team conducted free non-communicable disease screenings and other health check-ups. Stories documenting beneficiaries’ experiences were also screened, and college National Service Scheme units were recognised for their support.

In Chandel, the district-level programme was held at the Multipurpose Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex. Deputy Commissioner Mamoni Doley said 8,423 participants had taken part in campaign activities across 147 venues, while 1,680 participants were recorded at 84 Anganwadi centres. She urged departments to sustain awareness of welfare schemes and strengthen last-mile delivery. Benefits were distributed, achievers felicitated and success stories screened.

In Noney, the culmination programme at the Multipurpose Hall, Longmai-3, brought together departments to provide public services. Facilities included free medical check-ups, Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana health-card verification, Aadhaar-related enrolment and electronic Know Your Customer services, and on-the-spot issuance of Scheduled Tribe, birth and income certificates. Saplings, vegetable seeds, school textbooks and uniforms were distributed, while skill-training opportunities were offered. A separate awareness programme on menstrual health and hygiene was conducted for adolescent girls in child care institutions, with sanitary pads distributed to participants.
