As part of the United People’s Front’s National Reconsolidation Month, a two-day bike rally was flagged off from Hapta Kangjeibung on Tuesday. United People’s Front Manipur President Nongthombam Rupachandra said the rally was being organised under the message “Eikhoi Amuk Hanna Khuntaklaroisi.”
He said the United People’s Front (UPF) has been organising various programmes in different areas as part of the National Reconsolidation Month, being observed from December 9, 2025, to January 9 this year, with the objective of strengthening unity and collective resolve. He added that the programmes were being carried out with the participation of Manipuri communities residing in Manipur as well as in neighbouring states including Assam, Tripura and Meghalaya, with a focus on preserving ancestral traditions and fostering closer bonds.
Rupachandra said the two-day bike rally would cover five districts of Manipur and convey a message of unity and harmony to people along its route. Drawing inspiration from Maharaj Gambhir Singh’s efforts to uphold the collective strength and integrity of Manipur, he said the rally aimed to encourage people to work together for the welfare and unity of the state.
On the first day, the rally will pass through Khurai Lamlong, Pangei, Heingang, Koirengei, Sekmai, Phumlou and Lamsang before proceeding via Tera and Tiddim roads to reach Moirang, where it will halt for the night. On the second day, it will resume from Moirang and travel through Kumbi, Wangoo, Wabagai and Kakching before proceeding along the Thoubal–Irilbung and Kongba–Singjamei roads, concluding at Manipur College. Street corner meetings and public meetings will be held at various locations during the rally.
The National Reconsolidation Month will conclude on January 9 at the memorial site of Maharaj Gambhir Singh at Canchipur, where floral tributes will be paid to mark the closing of the month-long programme.
