As part of its ongoing commitment to academic excellence and capacity building, Oriental College (Autonomous), Imphal successfully organised two high-impact programmes in collaboration with ICFAI Business School, Kolkata, on 22nd and 23rd July 2025. These initiatives were aimed at equipping both faculty members and students with contemporary pedagogical strategies and career readiness skills.
On 22nd July 2025, the Faculty Knowledge Sharing Programme was conducted under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College at the Oriental College Conference Hall. Themed on “How to Improve Classroom Teaching Using Recent Technologies,” the session was led by Prof. Shubhanan Dey, Associate Dean, IBACO, IBS Kolkata, who shared valuable insights into the integration of emerging digital tools in higher education. Faculty members from various departments participated enthusiastically, engaging in productive dialogue on how to enhance content delivery, learner engagement, assessment strategies, and flipped learning models.
K. Biplob Singha, Coordinator of IQAC, hosted the session and stressed on the importance of imbibing cutting edge soft and hard skills in today’s highly competitive job market. He further highlighted the relevance of such knowledge-sharing platforms in fostering academic innovation and quality enhancement.
On the following day, 23rd July 2025, the Student Development Programme was held at the same venue. Organised by the Career Counselling, Guidance, and Placement Cell, the programme focused on “21st Century Skills for Employability.” Once again, Prof. Shubhanan Dey took centre stage and addressed a packed hall of undergraduate students from Arts and Science streams. The session covered crucial themes such as communication skills, emotional intelligence, digital literacy, and adaptability—essential competencies required to thrive in today’s dynamic job market.
