In a significant development aimed at strengthening its grassroots base, the Manipur People’s Party (MPP) has welcomed ten individuals from Kakching Khunou under Sugnu Assembly Constituency into the party fold. The induction was held during a function at the MPP Conference Hall, located at the party’s head office in Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.
The joining ceremony was attended by Dr. K. Muktasana Singh, General Secretary (Administration), along with senior party leaders, who expressed appreciation for the new members’ decision to support the party. The event, according to a press release issued by Arambam Karamjit Singh, General Secretary (Media), reflects MPP’s continued efforts to expand its presence in key constituencies.
Among those who joined the party are Khumukcham Rameshwor Singh, Thingnam Shyam Meitei, Sarangthem Somananda Singh, Thingnam Kumar Singh, Khumukcham Amuthoi Singh, and Khumukcham Shyameshwor Singh—all from Kakching Khunou Lamyeng Ching. Khumukcham Basant Singh from the same locality also joined, along with Mayanglambam Jacky Singh from Kakching Khunou Ngaikhong Leikai, Thingnam Samananda Singh from Kakching Khunou Tarung Leikai, and Irengbam Prafullo from Kakching Khunou Thongam.
The MPP, one of the oldest regional political parties in the state, views this development as a positive step in reinforcing its outreach and influence among local communities. Party leaders expressed optimism that the new entrants will contribute actively to the party’s future activities and initiatives in the region.
