Manipur wins 7 gold and 3 bronze medals at WAKO India National Kickboxing Championships

Manipur secured an impressive haul of 7 gold and 3 bronze medals at the WAKO India National Kickboxing Championships, held at Balbir Juneja Indoor Stadium in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, from July 16 to 20, 2025. A total of eight players from Manipur participated in the event.
In the men’s category, Y. Thoisana 60 kg, S. Deva 67 kg, and Bhupen Mutum 63 kg each won a gold medal.
In the women’s category, Y. Lasmi Devi 45 kg and Th. Omila Chanu 40 kg each won two gold medals.
Meanwhile, S. Thondonba Meetei 60 kg, A. Haridash Meitei 54 kg, and M. Yaifabi Chanu 50 kg secured bronze medals.
Moirangthem Chaningkhombi Chanu served as the team coach, while Khangembam Basanta Singh officiated as a referee, according to a press release issued by the United Association of Kickboxing Organisation Manipur.
