In connection with the upcoming World Red Cross Day 2025, the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Bishnupur District Branch, held a preparatory meeting under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Lourembam Bikram, IAS, who serves as the branch’s President.
The planning session was conducted at the DC Office Complex in Bishnupur, with IRCS Bishnupur Branch Chairman Dr. Wahengbam Gulapi Singh presiding over the proceedings. Members of the Management Committee discussed the activities scheduled to take place in the run-up to World Red Cross Day, which falls on May 8.
As part of the district-wide observance, several humanitarian and awareness programs will be organized. These include a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp cum Awareness Program, Anti-Rabies Vaccination and Awareness Drive, Red Cross Poster Campaign, Diabetes Detection Camp, Eye Camp, Liver Screening Camp, and First Aid Training Programme.
Dr. Wahengbam Gulapi Singh stated that, with support from the IRCS Manipur State Branch, relief materials will also be distributed to families and individuals in need across various localities of the district.
The meeting was also attended by Hemam Sotojit Singh, Executive Member of IRCS Manipur State Branch; Meinam Ibemhal Devi, Vice Chairman of IRCS Bishnupur District Branch; Secretary Dr. Huidrom Romen Singh; and other key members and volunteers.
