Training held for Assembly Level Trainers ahead of Electoral Roll revision in Manipur

In preparation for the upcoming Pre-Revision of Electoral Rolls with January 1, 2026, as the qualifying date, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur, successfully conducted a three-day training program for Assembly Level Trainers (ALTs) from June 30 to July 2, 2025. The training, held at the CEO’s office in Imphal, was aimed at equipping the ALTs with the necessary skills to guide Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in the state.
A total of 120 ALTs, two from each of the 60 Assembly Constituencies, participated in the training program. The sessions focused on key electoral procedures, including the constitutional and statutory provisions concerning the appointment and responsibilities of BLOs. Detailed role plays and practical training were provided on Form 6 (Addition), Form 7 (Deletion), and Form 8 (Shifting/Corrections of Electors/Replacement of EPIC and PwD Marking). The training also included assessments and case studies to enhance understanding and application.
The program concluded with demonstrations of the BLO and Voter Helpline applications, as well as the Voters Portal (https://voters.eci.gov.in/), giving participants hands-on experience with the digital tools used for electoral roll management.
These 120 ALTs are tasked with training the 2,955 BLOs across Manipur in the coming months. The aim is to prepare the BLOs to efficiently conduct house-to-house surveys and manage other responsibilities linked to the pre-revision and revision of electoral rolls.
In another development, the Election Commission of India has introduced new standardized BLO ID cards in a transparent case with a lanyard imprinted with the ECI logo. These updated ID cards have been distributed to all 2,955 BLOs in the state. The BLOs are expected to wear these ID cards during election-related activities such as the house-to-house survey, field verification visits, EPIC distribution, and during special camps and polling.
