6th Continuing Medical Education on Antimicrobial Stewardship held at RIMS

The 6th Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programme on Antimicrobial Stewardship, organized by the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, was held today at the Conference Hall of the NICU Annexe, Casualty Block, RIMS, Imphal.
The programme was inaugurated by Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, as the Chief Guest. Prof. N. Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, presided over the function, while Prof. Ng. Gunindro Singh, Co-Principal Investigator, AMSP, RIMS, attended as the Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Director, RIMS, lauded the release of the updated Antibiotic Policy and stressed that antimicrobial resistance remains a major global public health threat. He emphasized the importance of rational antibiotic use, multidisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based prescribing practices, urging healthcare professionals to promote antimicrobial stewardship and strengthen efforts to combat antimicrobial resistance.
The programme was attended by faculty members, heads of departments, clinicians, microbiologists, students, nursing official, members of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee, and healthcare professionals from various departments.
