In a move aimed at enhancing employability and skill development among the youth of Manipur, the fourth batch of the Skill Development Programme on Hospitality and Retail Management was inaugurated on Wednesday at Keishampat Leimajam Leikei in Imphal West.
The programme, scheduled to continue from July to October 2025, is being conducted in collaboration with the GauravPradhan Foundation, a Delhi-based non-governmental organisation working in the field of youth empowerment.
Since June 2024, Assam Rifles has been organising this training initiative, having successfully completed three batches. A total of 148 young individuals have reportedly secured employment in reputed hotels and retail establishments across the country through the earlier phases of the programme. The consistent success of these training sessions has sparked increased interest among local youth eager to acquire soft skills and improve their job prospects.
During the inaugural ceremony, Assam Rifles officials were reported to have congratulated the newly selected candidates, all of whom had undergone a strict screening process. The officials encouraged them to make the best use of the opportunity and to commit themselves fully to the training.
