As part of the 71st Wildlife Week Celebration 2025, the Central Forest Division in collaboration with Biramangol College, Sawombung, organised an Awareness Programme on “Human–Animal Coexistence 2025” at the college’s Gymnasium Hall on Monday.
The event was attended by Vikram Suresh Nadhe, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Central Forest Division; Dr. A. Jibalata Devi, Principal of Biramangol College; L. Shyamsunder, Head of the Botany Department; and Dr. K. Brajakumar, Head of the Chemistry Department, as key dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, DFO Vikram Suresh Nadhe spoke on the need to protect and preserve Manipur’s biodiversity, noting that although the state is small in size, it harbours rich and diverse wildlife. He urged the public to respect and coexist peacefully with animals, adding that both humans and animals share equal rights to live on Earth.
Students of Biramangol College took part in campus cleaning and tree plantation activities as part of the programme. Participants discussed issues such as the importance of conserving birds, preventing water pollution, and restoring local ecosystems.
