The Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board (LSTB) observed its annual Langban Chara Tamba ceremony at Haying Khongban, Uphong Yumpham, under the theme “Katchari Naphamda Langban Thana Lakpada.”
The ceremony was held to honour those who sacrificed their lives during the 2023 conflict and individuals who contributed to the protection and safeguarding of the temple board.
Keirao MLA Lourembam Rameshwor attended the programme as Chief Guest, while LSTB Vice-Chairman Chanam Nabachandra presided. Dr Waikhom Romesh, Head of the Manipuri Department, GP Women’s College; former LSTB board member Keisham Ibomcha Meitei; and LSTB Maibarel Maisnam Iboba Luwang attended as guests of honour.
Speaking at the event, Rameshwor said the ceremony was observed on the full-moon day of Langban in memory of those who lost their lives during the 2023 conflict.
He said those who sacrificed their lives in defence of the territorial integrity of Manipur would remain immortal in the hearts of the people.
The MLA also paid tribute to the heroes of the Anglo-Manipur War, stressing the importance of remembering their sacrifices and drawing inspiration from their courage and determination.
