AKSMSDC expels two members for drug involvement in Kwakta

In a significant move to curb the rising menace of drug abuse, the All Kwakta Sangomsumbam/Mushram Sagei Development Committee (AKSMSDC) has expelled two members of the Sangomsumbam Mushram lineage for their alleged involvement in drug-related activities.
The individuals — Sangomsumbam Md. Amu Khan from Ward No. 1 and Sangomsumbam Md. Hafijuddin from Ward No. 3 of the Kwakta Municipal Council — were reportedly engaged in drug use and trafficking, posing a serious threat to the reputation and well-being of their community. The announcement was made by Sangomsumbam Haji Abdul Latif, Internal Auditor of AKSMSDC, at the committee’s office in Kwakta.
The committee acted under its guiding motto “To Serve for Humanity,” and declared that the expulsion was necessary to protect the future of the younger generation and to send a strong message to deter others from engaging in similar activities.
According to Abdul Latif, the decision came after repeated warnings and monitoring failed to bring any change in the individuals’ behavior. “They showed no sign of remorse or willingness to reform. Their continued association with drugs was harming not just themselves but bringing shame to the entire lineage,” he stated.
