Internally displaced persons (IDPs) sheltered at the Kodompokpi Sports Complex relief camp in Wangjing have welcomed the arrest of another person allegedly linked to the April 7, 2025, rocket bomb attack on a household at Tronglaobi Awang Leikai, in Bishnupur district, stating the development as a significant step towards delivering justice.
In a press release, Ningthouja Amarjit Singh, Convenor of the Relief Camp at Kodompokpi Sports Complex, Wangjing, stated that the rocket bomb attack had claimed the lives of two minor children who were sleeping beside their mother and left the mother critically injured.
He stated that a Kuki militant suspected of involvement in the incident had reportedly been arrested earlier. The recent arrest of another person allegedly connected with the attack by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on September 25, 2026, has been viewed by the IDPs as a significant step by the country’s law-enforcement agencies.
The IDPs appealed to the Government to ensure appropriate legal action against those allegedly involved in the killing of the two children and the attack that critically injured their mother.
