Kangujam Kanarjit, the youth behind the organizing of the Global Youth Meet 2014 and World Youth Summit 2015 here at Imphal and also the nominee of the ‘Global Youth Icon Award’ today alleged Agriculture Minister Nasir of playing spoil with two lady delegates of the World Youth Summit at Classic Hotel Imphal.
During a press meet held today at Manipur Press Club today, Karnajit said that Minister Nasir had asked two of the lady delegate to come to his room promising them huge tips. The World Youth Summit was held here in Imphal under the initiative of Kangujam Karnajit Singh from March 31 to April 2 this year. A total of 57 delegates from different countries and different states of India attended the meet. The delegates were provided accommodation at Hotel Classic Imphal. Among the delegates, 9 were from Nepal.
Karnajit said that on April 1 when the World Youth Submit was supposed to end, a 19 years old lady delegate from Nepal was tried to be lured by the Agriculture Minister Nasir at the Veranda of Hotel Classic Imphal. The lady delegate then complaint the matter to other delegate of Nepal and the matter was later reached to the ear of Karnajit who organised the Global Youth Meet.
Karnajit further added that the Minister also sent various text messages to another participant of the World Youth Summit from Uttar Pradesh.
Karnajit said that he talked to Agriculture Minister regarding the matter at which the Minister said that he would even take his life if the intention to call the girl to his room was bad. Later, the minister had agreed to pay The Classic hotel bill for the delegates which come around rupees 3.58 lakhs. Karnajit said that Nasir had sent his wife to clear the bill and as the Classic Hotel authority said that they received in cash only, the lady (Nasir’s wife) went back telling the hotel boys that she will return back to clear the bill.
Karnajit added the hotel bill was then never cleared by the Minister.
The story of a Minister allegedly trying to lure two lady delegates came when he was making clarification to the series of allegation levelled against him by a report appeared at Imphal Free Press. He said as the bill was not cleared by the Minister he definitely have to face some financial constrain and there is some due even today. This is the reason for the Classic Hotel authority to spread false and baseless allegations to a reporter of Imphal Free Press. He said that he have to pay rupees 1.58 lakhs more to The Classic hotel.
Regarding the allegations about his name not being listed among the Dr. Ambedkar Award winners, Karnajit said that he was nominated for the award but he did not received the award as he thought the award is not a standard  and significant one.  He further said that the allegation levelled against him by Imphal Free Press was baseless.
