Imphal, Oct 25:
Condolences continue to flow from regional rebel groups following the death of three armed cadres on October 23. The cadres, affiliated with the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and PREPAK Pro—two insurgent groups operating in Northeast India—lost their lives in a clash with Myanmar-based factions, identified as the PDF and KNF-B.
The United National Liberation Front (UNLF) led by Koireng, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing it as a major blow. In a statement by M. Shak-Hen, Secretary of Publicity, Central Committee UNLF, the fallen cadres were commemorated for their dedication to restoring Kangleipak, or Manipur’s, autonomy.
The deceased were identified as Captain Oinam Gulu, also known as Bobo of the PLA; Captain Wahengbam Sopaiba, also known as Saratkumar; and Lance Corporal Nongmaithem Nongdon, also known as Bonishana. Their sacrifice has been honored with a “revolutionary salute,” underscoring the significance attributed to their efforts within the insurgent circles.
