One arrested in Search Operation

Imphal, 2 April: A search and cordon operation was conducted today morning at about 7:00 am at Taothong Ayungba Maning Leikai by a teams of Imphal West CDO led by M.Amit Singh, MPS, Dy SP of CDO-IW and Inspector Somayo R Shimary 2nd OC od CDO-IW under the supervision Dr.S Ibomcha Singh MPS, Addl SP (Ops) IW. An unknown person was detained for identification for his suspicious nature and on further identification, was identified as one Chongtham Ibomcha Singh(43) s/o Ch.Mani Meetei of Taothong Ayungba Maning Leikai. On further questioning, Ibomcha disclosed that he had been working under one Khangembam Raju Singh alias Ting(42) s/o (L) Kh. Iboyaima Singh of Keishamthong Hodam Leirak of KRA-U since December 2016. He further confess that he and some other members of KRA-U led by Khangembam Raju was involved in the kidnapping of Soibam Dhanabir Singh(70) of Tera Lukram Leirak, Proprietor of SDS Brick Field of Lamdeng Khunou on 16th Feb 2017 and a ransom amounting to Rs 2. Crores was demanded to the said individual. It may be mentioned that the said kidnapped person Soibam Dhanabir was rescued by a team of IW CDO on 23 February from Shamurou area.
