Imphal, April 2: Villagers in Haolenphai in Moreh near Indo-Myanmar Border express their dissatisfaction and disappointment over the negligence of Manipur Government and Center in dealing the issue of the disputed land of Haolenphai between Manipur and Myanmar and recurring actions of the foreign Myanmar Army. There have been apprehensive that the disputed land may be acquired by Myanmar very soon as they have already been carrying out construction work in the area and has repeatedly claimed Haolenphai to be their territory and yet no serious action has been taken. The villagers of Haolenphai alleged that the Indian Army who is guarding the international boundary area is not doing their job as they remain mute spectators to the Myanmar Army who are carrying out construction work at the area. In the last two years the Indian Authority have not taken up any steps to stop the process of construction work of the water reservoir by shifting of boundary pillar to Manipur territory and construction of cannel. The villagers fear that they might lose the land of Haolenphai to Myanmar. Mention may be that Myanmar Army trooper had vandalized the village saw mill on March 3 and stole the machinery and even alleged that the Myanmar Army has looted their houses too.
