Representatives of the Joint Committee on Inner Line permit System (JCILPS) has turned down Chief Minister’s invitation to discuss on Inner Line Permit system today. The Chief Minister had personally invited the Convenor of the JCILPS, Kh Ratan Singh at 2 pm to have a meeting with him at the CM’s Secretariat today. However, as the JCILPS is not satisfied with the government as it failed to table a bill simultaneously, the committee instead of meeting the Chief Minister today convened a meeting to discuss the development. Till the time of filing this story representatives of the JCILPS are tight lip regarding their decision. However, source suggested that the JCILPS might take up some form of intensified agitation until a new bill for protection of the indigenous people is introduced in the house.
