Imphal, Oct 24: One remote control Improvised Electronic Device (IED) was found today at Keikhu Musli Makha Leikai at around 6 am.
The IED was found at the resident of one MD. Hazi Abdul Kodur (36 years), son of Late MD. Samsuruddin of Keikhu Muslim Makha Leikai, Imphal East under Porompat Police Station by one family member of Hazi Abdul.
The IED which was with black polythene bag was later recovered and defused by Manipur Bomb disposal squad with mounted jammer vehicle and safely detonated at Wakha Village at around 11:30 am, in Imphal East.
Meanwhile, locals of Keikhu Muslim Makha Leikai and meira paibi has stage a sit-in-protest condemning the act and demands the related who put up the IED to clarify at the earliest.
Placards were also put up in the sit-in condemning placing of bomb in the residential area.
On the other hand, one hand grenade was found today afternoon inside the campus of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Langol.
