Naga Chiefs Association urges Chief Minister to provide basic requirement before inaugurating 50 bedded Chandel district Hospital

Imphal, Oct. 24: Naga Chiefs Association Chandel has urged the Chief Minister of Manipur to provide basic requirement of the 50 bedded Chandel District Hospital before inaugurating it.
In a statement the association said that inauguration of the 50 bedded district hospital by the chief minister without providing basic facilities will be considered as fooling the public.
While appreciating the Chief Minister N. Biren Singh over his government commitment to bring equal development in all area both in the valley and Hills and the declaration of the ‘Go to Hill” motto to bridge the gap of development both valley and Hills the Naga Chiefs Association urged for converting it into action.
The statement said that the 50 bedded District Hospital of Chandel which is to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister lack inadequate facilities ad equipments. The Present available equipments and facilities of the hospital are undated and not fit to be used, it added
“The basic requirements of the 50 bedded District Hospital are: Colour Doppler ultra sound with TVS probe, Uninterrupted power supply to the hospital (i.e. 250 kilowatts), General Anaesthetic Machine, Dental X-ray, 20 New Beds in the Gynaelogy Department, ten numbers of Oxygen Cylinder, Operating microscope for ENT, Blood bank or blood storage, ten numbers of donors specialized in : Medicines, Surgery, Ortho, Radiology, Demonology, Psychiatric, Pathology, etc”, the statement said.
 It further added that four number of general medical officer, seven numbers of administrative staff, one accountant, one SMO (Senior Medical Officer) two number of sister in Charge, three numbers of drivers, one microbiologist and one outpost of Manipur Police at the Hospital are still vacant.
