Transport department seeks government’s cooperation in expediting the registration of HSRP (High Security Registration Plate).
Addressing reporters today at the site where vehicles registration drive is going on at Naoremthong, Th. Dinnachandra Singh, Transport OC, Imphal West said more than 78,000 vehicles have been registered with HSR (High Security Registration) Plate in the state till now. The drive has been conducting at various sites since a past few days – Sagolband Tera, Chingmeirong, Lamlong Bazar and twice at Naoremthong. At the drive, the security personal conducts a verification of all the vehicles’ riders. They impose a fine of Rs. 200 to all the vehicles which do not have the HSR Plate and gives the vehicles’ owners a chance to register it at the spot without even going to the transport’s office. Two wheelers’ owners can pay Rs. 610 to register their vehicles with HSR Plate whereas all the light vehicles’ owners can pay Rs. 1330.
