Gaikhangam calls on to learn self respect and maintain discipline on DESAM’s Foundation Day

The 14th Foundation Day of Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) was observed today at G.P. Women’s College.
Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur Gaikhangam, President of DESAM Moirangthem Angamba Meitei, Centre for Myanmar Studies, Manipur University Professor W Nabakumar, G.P. Women’s College Principal Y Chandrasakhi, Retired Lecturer T Gulamjat, Kuki Students’ Organisation, General H/Q President Paotinthang Lupheng, Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong Former Vice President Kashung Tennyson and All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (Assam, Manipur, Nagaland) Public Relation Secretary Katureiyang Pamei attended the foundation day as presidium members.
Speaking as the Chief Guest of the function, Gaikhangam stressed on the need to maintain discipline for running an organisation or the state.
“ It may be government or private organizations or individuals, if there are no discipline, there will be no future”, Gaikhangam said while appreciating the student body DESAM for maintaining discipline.
Gaikhangam further said that some pseudo intellectuals are manipulating the history of the erstwhile kingdom for their mere selfish agenda to ruin the future of the state. He further added that no religion had ever taught wrong to the people. Respect among one another will bring a peace in the society.
The deputy Chief Minister also asserted that the person who love his country as his own family will shine in the histroy.
Moirangthem Angamba Meitei said that the misunderstanding among the people of the State is due to the failure to upgrade the syllabus of the school and university curriculum . The issued face by the State is due to the undiplomatic way and the failure to adopt an appropriate education system in the society, he added.
“A new education system is the need of the hour to improve the society”, Angamba said.
Angamba further said that a new education campaign will begin shortly after a through discussion with the well known lecturer, intellectual of the state so that the State could create a new idea about the education and how constructivism education can be provided to the students. An emotional integration is needed among the different organizations to bring peace and harmony among us and a big campaign will be organized jointly with the different organizations and the ethnic groups of the State, Angamba added.
The Chingu Maichou Khongnang Thaba Award was conferred to few dedicated teachers on the occasion of the 13th foundation day of DESAM.
A blood donation camp, inaugurated by Deputy CM Gaikhangam, was also organised where more than 100 students donated their blood.
