Eviction drive at Langol Reserved Forest area

Imphal, Aug 10: Officials of Forest Department along with a police team has conducted an eviction drive to the land encroachers of the Langol Reserve Forest, Sadar West Range area, today.
According to an official of the Forest Department, the land encroachers were building houses and shops at the reserve forest area of Langol without the concern of forest department.
Though the department were able to evict some of the houses and shops settle at the reserve forest area, due to lack of man power, the department could not evict some of the encroachers despite serving enormous number of notices as the encroachers turn out to be people or relatives of high profile people of the state.
If the department are authorised to use man power, eviction drive at the Langol Reserve forest area will be continuo, the official added.
 The evicted houses were built at the Langol Reserve Forest, Sadar West Range opposite to Central Agricultural University (CAU).
