The National Investigation Agency (NIA), with the assistance of the CRPF and Manipur Police, arrested a couple on Thursday in connection with the abduction and killing of six Naga civilians from Leilon Vaiphei village in Kangpokpi district on May 13 this year.
The arrested couple have been identified as Pradip (40), son of Tomba of Senjam Chirang Maning Leikai, who is currently residing at Leilon Vaiphei, and his wife Ayingbi @ Mangaih daughter of Nimkhinsau. According to local sources, Pradip had converted to Christianity and have been residing in Leilon Vaiphei village for around ten years. The couple has four children—three daughters and one son.
The arrests are related to the NIA’s investigation into the abduction of six Naga civilians from Leilon Vaiphei on May 13.
