Constable recruitment appeared candidates call 24 hour bandh in Imphal East district

Imphal, Aug 29: Body formed by constable recruitment test for 2013 batch has called 24 hour total bandh in Imphal East district starting from midnight today in protest against the fresh recruitment test scheduled to hold tomorrow at Police Training Center Pangei.
The ‘bandh’ called was announced today by Md Zaheer khan, the spokesperson of the constable recruitment appeared candidates at Manipur Press Club today in the presence of other members of the candidates’ body.
Speaking to media persons, Md Zaheer khan, while clarifying that the body had no hands in the burning of the government offices recently including the Government Advocate office at old Guwahati High court complex, blamed the state government for putting the blamed to the candidates who are asking their rightful demand.
“We the police constable recruitment appeared candidates of 2013 batch strongly condemn the government plan to put blame to us for burning of the two government offices”, Md Zaheer khan said.
He further added that the burning of the offices is nothing but to divert the issue of the  genuine demand of the candidates and to prevent the court hearing of the case filed by the candidates at which hearing was scheduled today.
Md Zaheer khan said the decision to call bandh in Imphal East was taken after in a joint meeting of guardians and candidates today morning at Manipur press club today.
He further added that if any irregularities has been found during the recruitment process the blamed should be to those conducting the recruitment test and not to the candidates appearing.
“Why should the wrong done by government official harassed the candidate by sabotaging their career?” Md Zaheer khan asked.
He further added that the recruitment process was conducted along with video recording and front of press media and if candidate who scored 0 mark in written test were called on for interview then whose fault is that, asked the spokespersons.
If any irregularities are found during the process then those responsible for conducting the test should be held responsible and should be awarded appropriate punishment, he added.
He further added that all the member of the constable recruitment appeared body of 2013 batch will not participate the recruitment rally and warn to the state government to declare the result instead of conducting fresh recruitment.
