The Co-ordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) convened the “1st Consultation Meet with Local Apex Bodies, Clubs, and Meira Paibis on the Manipur Crisis” at its office in Lamphel. The meeting brought together coordinating bodies, apex organizations, and Meira Paibi groups and discussed to strengthening the collective role of civil society organizations (CSOs) in addressing the ongoing crisis in Manipur.
The consultation serves as a platform for uniting community efforts, strategizing future actions, and reinforcing responsibilities in safeguarding the interests of the people and the state. Participants deliberated on various critical issues, including community solidarity, succession of leadership within apex bodies, and the need for a unified response to the challenges faced by Manipur (Kangleipak).
COCOMI emphasized the importance of active participation from all apex bodies across both hill and valley regions to ensure a unified stance on pressing concerns. Additionally, the committee urged club organizations and Meira Paibi groups to play proactive roles in these efforts, underscoring that collective strength and coordination will be essential in shaping the future course of action.
