Bodies of 5 CKMA militants found missing during police investigation at Daveijang

The bodies of five militants reportedly killed during an internal clash within the Chin Kuki Mizo Army (CKMA) at Daveijang village, about 50 kilometers from Nungba Police Station in Noney district, were found missing when a police team led by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nungba Police Station reached the site for investigation.
Daveijang is a small Kuki village with about eight households. According to reports, on June 21 at around 6 PM, approximately 15 cadres of the CKMA had entered the village and detained the village chief, accusing him of leaking information about their activities. The chief was initially held at a church and later taken to a house, where he was allegedly confined.
On July 22, at around 2 AM, villagers reported hearing gunshots. Fearing for their safety, many fled the area. Upon returning, they found signs of blood and evidence suggesting that multiple individuals may have been killed near the residence of the village chief. However, by the time the police arrived at the location, the bodies were no longer at the scene.
The police team, which conducted a spot verification, recovered traces of blood but found no bodies. Initial findings suggest the incident was an internal fallout within the CKMA and not a result of an attack by any rival underground group. Investigation into the incident continues.
