Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Manipur Pradesh has clarified that BJP is not an ally of Naga People’s Front (NPF) and Manipur State Congress party. Responding to a report of making an agreement between BJP, NPF and Nationalist Congress Party on finding a consensus candidate for Nungba assembly constituency in the next assembly polls after a one day political meeting on August 21 as claimed by one president of United Political Forum Nungba Kendra (UPFNK), the General secretary (adminstration) M Asnikumar in a statement here said that BJP is not a party to the UPFNK and no member of BJP did not attended the political consultation meeting in Thangong. It may be noted that Nungba assembly constituency lies in Manipur’s tamenglong district and the present state Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam is a local MLA, “The members of the BJP mandal are advised not to join the so called UPFNK”, warns the statement. “Otherwise appropriate disciplinary action shall be take against such persons.”(Courtesy MU)
