Taking part in the nationwide observance of 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, government of Manipur and district administration of various districts paid befitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.The state function observed at GM Hall was marked by offering of floral tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi erected at GM Hall.Speaking on the occasion Manipur Chief Minister, who was the chief guest of the function, said that Mahatma Gandhi got the sympathy of everyone in the world because of his deeds. He further said that he will be remembered all over the world as spiritual leader. Cleanliness is one of the spiritual exercises of Mahatma Gandhi. In order the live healthily we need a clean environment.Deputy Chief Minister of the state, Gaikhangam who attended the function as president said that Mahatma Gandhi is one of the worthiest people in the world.The day was also observed at Congress Bhavan Imphal by Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC).District Administration of Thoubal also observed National Cleanliness Day at DC office Thoubal.As a part of the birth anniversary celebration various club and organisation also observed the cleanliness day.
