As part of the continuing endeavor of the Assam Rifles towards improving and providing basic facilities, Sajik Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) distributed water sintex tank to the village of Kholmulen and Kathung village of Kana Valley area, Chandel District of Manipur under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme 2018-19.
The villages in the Kana Valley area lack basic amenities including facility for clean water. The village authorities had approached Sajik Battalion Assam Rifles to assist them in enhancing the water storage facility in their respective village. The Sajik Battalion promptly provided the water syntax tanks under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme. The Battalion distributed 03 Sintex tanks to village Kholmulen and 02 to village Kathung to alleviate the problems faced by these remote border villages.
The welfare measure will strengthen the confidence of the villagers in Security Forces and enhance mutual trust between them. The water Sintex tank distribution was well received by the local populace and they expressed their heart felt gratitude for the efforts taken by Assam Rifles to improve their lives.
