Review and assessment of the BJP’s 2024 Sankalp Patra briefly in comparison to the Congress’s Nyaya Patra

By: Laimayum Bashanta Sharma, Spokesperson, BJP Manipur Pradesh
Reiterating the Hon’ble Prime Minister letter to the nation I would like to share his thoughts in brief. The goal of building Viksit Bharat by 2047 is being discussed by today’s youth as one that is doable and a benchmark that will undoubtedly be met. The nation is confident in its journey of becoming self-reliant(Aatmanirbhar).
This is a significant departure from the hopelessness and annoyance that the country had endured in the ten years preceding 2014 as a result of the mismanagement, policy paralysis, and corruption by those in power. Our country has transformed from being one of the “Fragile Five” to one of the top 5 economies in the world. The fact that the benefits of development have reached everyone, especially those who most needed them, is the most significant aspect of this progress. We have been guided in our actions by the mantra Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.
The Prime Minister had declared, “Yahi Samay Hai, Sahi Samay Hai,” while giving a speech from the Red Fort’s ramparts. These days, a lot of credible voices from all over the world agree that India is in its prime. India is considered a major player in the current global endeavors to build a better future.
The BJP Sankalp Patra is centered around progressive, realistic, and goal-oriented promises that are fore grounded by the Modi Ki Guarantee. The aspirations and objectives of our nation, by our nation, and for our nation are outlined in this Sankalp Patra. It is Modi’s guarantee that every promise made is kept, as you have witnessed over the past ten years.
Aside from thousands of zamindari estates and jagirs, 565 princely states on the Indian subcontinent were formally recognized at the time of the British withdrawal. Princely states accounted for 23% of India’s population in 1947 and occupied 40% of the country’s land area prior to independence. The iron man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel former Deputy Prime Minister of India, was successful in bringing an end to this division thus safeguarding India from disintegration of the worst kind. Did the unification of India post our independence really united the Indian population which was still divided on the ground of caste and religion? The answer is a big no. The framers of our written constitution felt the need to unite all Indians under a uniform civil codes cutting across religious lines and religious conventions. Our Constitution defines the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Article 44 of the Directive Principles of State Policy. It declares that the state has an obligation to ensure that all Indian citizens have access to a Uniform Civil Code. Stated differently, it essentially means that one nation, one rule. It is neither the contemporary creation of the BJP nor the hindutva ideology. Since 1947 many governments have tried however due to strong opposition from communal forces and appeasement policy of political parties it never materialised into an act. It is not targeted against one community or religion. Nearly all religions have many shortcomings and imperfections that make them inappropriate for lifestyles in a postmodern, liberal society. It became necessary to create a uniform civil code to address these problems. Among the numerous Modi ki Guarantees in Sankalp Patra 2024 is UCC. An honest attempt to end polygamy sanctioned by religious laws that could lead to population explosion detrimental to the nation’s social harmony and economy, child marriage, disparity and gender discrimination in law of inheritance, triple talaq that can be interpreted as a cruel divorce that impacted women, etc, all these extreme practices are protected by various religious laws and UCC intended to put an end to these unfair practices.
The congress Nyaya Patra on the other hand explicitly mentioned recognition of regressive Sharia Law that stands opposed to secular laws, religious tolerance and co existence.
Nyaya patra promised to conduct a caste census to divide the majority hindus on the basis of caste. Promise to copy theocratic Islamic state dress code in schools like mandatory right to wear Burqa and hijab. Scholarship exclusively for the Muslim to study abroad. What else could this be if it is not an attempt to placate one community at the expense of others? I will not go into the specifics of Nyaya Patra’s and their communist allies’ manifesto, which called for severing relations with friendly nations like the United States-led coalition and dismantling all atomic weapons in order to destroy our nuclear arsenal and eliminate India’s ability to deter other nuclear powers if the I.N.D.I. Alliance were to retake power.
I would focus only on the G.Y.A.N. It stands for Garib Parivar Jan (Poor and downtrodden families) , Yuva(youth), Annadata (Farmers/Kisan) and Nari(Women) that are going to be empowered further as stated in our Sankalp Patra backed by Modi Ki Guarantee.
