AYUSH free medical camp held at Kyamgei

A health awareness programme along with a free medical camp was organised on Monday under the National Ayush Mission by a team of doctors from the ten bedded Ayush Hospital, Singjamei Chingamathak, in collaboration with the Youth Pioneer Club, Kyamgei Heibong Makhong.
The medical camp was led by Dr Yumnam Dhaneshwori, Medical Superintendent of the Ayush Hospital. The medical team comprised two Ayurvedic doctors, two Homoeopathy doctors, one Yoga and Naturopathy doctor, supported by staff nurses, MTS and a pharmacist. A total of nine team members provided free medical examination and treatment to ninety six local residents.
Patients suffering from chronic ailments, including high blood pressure, diabetes, skin diseases, gynaecological disorders and piles, were examined and treated during the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Longjam Suranjoy, Social Worker of Kyamgei Maning Leikai said AYUSH systems of medicine have emerged as effective alternative modes of treatment alongside Allopathy. He added that in view of increasing health concerns in Kyamgei Heibong Makhong, more such free medical camps would be organised in future with support from the Ayush Hospital to improve healthcare access for residents.
