Ukhrul, July 27:
The Tangkhul Naga Foothills Organization (TNFO) has officially extended its full support to the indefinite blockade launched by the Foothills Naga Coordination Committee (FNCC), reaffirming the collective Naga stand to defend ancestral lands and preserve territorial integrity.
Following a meeting held on July 26, 2025, the TNFO Executive Council unanimously resolved to endorse the FNCC’s ongoing democratic agitation. The blockade, described as peaceful but firm, is being carried out in protest against multiple critical issues threatening the Naga community’s rights and existence in the region.
Key among the concerns are: the proposed construction of the Tiger/German Road, which allegedly cuts through traditional Naga ancestral land without the consent of local communities; the continued presence of Kuki militants’ Suspension of Operation (SOO) camps within Naga areas; and the alarming rise in poppy cultivation and drug trafficking in Naga-inhabited regions.
In a strong public appeal, the TNFO called upon all Naga blood tribes across Manipur to unite in solidarity and lend support to the FNCC’s movement. The organization emphasized the need for collective vigilance and resistance against attempts to destabilize and alter the demographic and territorial landscape of the Naga homeland.
Issued by its Media and Publicity Wing, the TNFO statement concluded with a resounding “Kuknalim,” reinforcing their commitment to Naga unity, land, and identity.
The situation is being closely watched as tensions continue to escalate over contested land and security issues in the region.
