Volleyball Tournament for Peace and Brotherhood 2025 concludes at Kaimai

The Volleyball Tournament for Peace and Brotherhood 2025, organised by the 87 Battalion CRPF under the aegis of the Sports Authority of India as part of the Khelo India programme, concluded today at Tollen Playground, Kaimai in Tamenglong District. The tournament was held from October 22 to 25, 2025, with the aim of promoting sportsmanship and fostering unity among the youth of villages along NH-37 in the district.
The tournament was inaugurated on October 22, 2025, by Sh. Tapan Kumar, Commandant, 87 Battalion CRPF. A total of 16 youth teams from different villages participated with great enthusiasm.
The final match was played between Phaitol Youth Club and Kambiron Youth Club, where Phaitol Youth Club emerged as the champion, defeating Kambiron Youth Club in a thrilling contest. The winners received a trophy, a cash prize of ¹ 10,000, and a volleyball with net, while the runners-up were awarded a trophy, ¹ 5,000 in cash, and a volleyball with net. All participating teams were also presented with two volleyballs and a net as tokens of encouragement.
The closing ceremony, held on October 25, 2025, was graced by Sh. Lanmyo Luikham (MPS), Superintendent of Police, Tamenglong, as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by several village chiefs, secretaries, youth leaders, CSO representatives, and officers from the CRPF, State Police, and Assam Rifles.
In his address, the Chief Guest commended the efforts of the CRPF in promoting peace, brotherhood, and physical fitness through sports. The programme concluded with the felicitation of village leaders, CSO representatives, and security officers, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Sh. Michael V, Second-in-Command, 87 Battalion CRPF.
