Awareness campaign on road safety and sustainable transport held at Khongsang

A one-day awareness campaign on Road Safety and Sustainable Transport was organized today by the Khongsang (Sangrung) Transport Association (KTA) at Khongsang Railway Station under Nungba Sub-Division, Noney District. The campaign aimed to educate truck drivers on responsible driving practices and promote the concept of sustainable transport in the hill areas.
Speaking at the event, M. Chingeklung, President of the KTA, stressed the importance of road safety awareness, responsible driving, and the collective effort required to prevent accidents. He urged drivers to follow traffic rules and maintain discipline on the road to ensure the safety of both passengers and goods.
Around 50 truck drivers participated in the program and actively engaged in discussions on safe driving techniques, vehicle maintenance, and eco-friendly transport practices. The session emphasized the principles of “Alertness, Awareness, and Action” as key to preventing road mishaps.
