Sagolband MLA felicitates TRAU players for triumph in MNCA Tournaments

A warm reception ceremony was held on Sunday at the residence of Sagolband Assembly Constituency MLA, R.K. Imo Singh, to felicitate the players of Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU) for their commendable achievements in the 5th MNCA Luwangpokpa T20 Trophy 2024–25 and the 5th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2024–25.
The occasion was attended by TRAU President Shri Jogeshchandra Haobijam, Secretary T. Phulen Meitei, Corporator of Ward No. 7 Shri R.K. Jiten Singh, club officials, team members, and well-wishers.
Shri R.K. Imo Singh, in his address, lauded the players for their outstanding performances that brought pride not only to TRAU but also to the people of Sagolband. He urged the young athletes to maintain discipline, focus, and determination—values he said form the foundation of long-term success in both sports and life.
As a gesture of encouragement and recognition, the MLA extended a financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 each to both the TRAU Cricket Team and the TRAU Football Team, the latter set to participate in the prestigious upcoming Durand Cup. The support was warmly received by the players and club officials, who saw it as a timely morale booster.
Shri R.K. Imo Singh reiterated his commitment to promoting youth and sports development in Sagolband and beyond. He stated that such sporting milestones are not just individual victories but collective achievements that strengthen the community and elevate Manipur’s sporting identity on the national stage.
Club officials expressed heartfelt gratitude to the MLA for his unwavering support and encouragement. They reaffirmed TRAU’s dedication to nurturing young talents and contributing to the development of a robust grassroots sports ecosystem in the state.
