The much-anticipated 8th Makhuam Youth Organisation (MYO) Sport Meet cum Cultural Programme commenced today with a grand opening ceremony under the theme “Building Bridges, Inspiring Change”. The event aims to promote unity, cultural development, and excellence in sports and arts, showcasing the vibrant spirit of the community.
The opening ceremony, held with great fanfare, was graced by Janghemlung Panmei, Hon’ble MLA of Tamenglong Assembly Constituency, as the Chief Guest; Lungranglung Gondaimei, Chairman of Makhuam Village Authority, as the Guest of Honour; and Gailiang Gonmei, a prominent social worker, as the Special Guest.
In his address, MLA Janghemlung Panmei emphasized the importance of addressing village development and promised swift action on key initiatives. He highlighted plans for improving connectivity through upgraded roads and bridges, enhancing community infrastructure such as common grounds and public buildings, and fostering economic growth through entrepreneurship and skill development programs. His commitment to accelerating these efforts was warmly welcomed by the villagers.
The ceremony began with a procession of participating teams, clad in vibrant traditional attire, marching into the venue to the applause of the gathered audience.
